I am about to realize one of my fantasies!
First, let me just say that my fantasies have changed since I became a mother.
My top three fantasies now:
- Have all the kids be old enough for Sunday School so I can participate in services without whispering “stop that…be still….be quiet…shhhhhHHHHHH!” the whole way through. I’m sure that some other people at our church have that fantasy, too. About my kids. (Actually, they are pretty good.) Well, as of tomorrow, my smallest starts Sunday School. Fantasy number one to be fulfilled.
- Take the kids to the pool and be able to watch them from a lounge chair, on which I am spread out, soaking in the sun, and reading a book. Maybe in two or three years, as long as I don’t have any more kids.
- At least once a week, sleep past 6:30am. Probably won’t see this one for at least another four or five years, again, if I have no more kids. Yawn. I’m a morning person when it’s voluntary, but there’s something different about someone else waking you up every morning.
Hey, I warned you these were a mother’s fantasies!
(And I’m sure they will be bittersweet. As much as I want to experience these things, I love being with my kids. What amazing little creatures.)
