Slightly less cranky today. Met exercise goal but gained weight.
I shouldn’t have gone on the scale. I exercised my a$$ off this weekend (or so I was hoping) and I gained a few pounds. Food was good — little snacking, mostly good choices. I didn’t drink enough water, though. It was very demoralizing, which reminds me why I don’t go on the scale often. Sigh.
On the plus side, re: the Lazy Waister’s Triathlon: I finished my 2.5 mile swim goal for the weekend (albeit on Monday due to not being able to get to the pool on Sunday) and am close to finishing the 26 mile walk/run goal. Next, 112 miles on the bike by Oct 3. I see a sore rear end in my near future.
I have really had fun challenging myself with this triathlon and am trying to think what my next challenge will be — maybe walk the distance of the Appalachian Trail from start to finish in a certain period of time? Just having a goal of exercising for an hour to lose weight isn’t really motivating to me. I need to feel like I really accomplished something immediately, something that shows concrete progress to a goal. What other ways do you challenge yourself and motivate yourself?

I try pushing myself a little harder for a challenge
Don’t worry about the weight. That darn scale is a mysterious thing!
Thanks, Annette — I managed not to let it wreck my day
Barely!
Great job on the challenges! I love challenges, too.
