Not expecting a loss this week
I’m staying at Le Royal Meridian hotel in Shanghai. I exercised (at the gym on the 10th floor of the hotel — the building on the right with two antennae) and then walked all over Shanghai.

And, I managed to eat fairly well today. But it was tough. I am tired and I miss my family. I want to put my feet up and turn on the TV and eat mindlessly. But I won’t.
I think this week I’ll hope that I just maintain. I’m not expecting a loss. I’ve been the same or a pound up most of the week. Two small changes, apparently not good ones, between this week and last: less formal exercise (thinking, oh, walking around all day is good enough, I don’t need to go and really sweat) and more soda. Just those two differences have made a difference, and not the difference I want. So that got me to the gym this morning and I drank a ton of water today.
While we were in the older part of Shanghai today, I learned some fascinating bits of history today, including how the Jews in the Shanghai ghetto during World War II managed to escape the Final Solution. Very interesting story. Google and read about it.

what a great experience! I would cut out the soda for sure
and just enjoy the rest!
Great pictures. I’d love to visit there someday. I liked your comment about chinese culture and having to walk alot and no snacks. We in america should try that!
