Down 2 pounds: In between Biggest Loser Blog Editions

Well, I’m down another two pounds. Little appetite plus a little running seems to have done the trick this week. To be honest, at the start of the week, I was worried I’d have another gain on my little yo-yo thing I’ve been doing the past few weeks. But now, my motivation is renewed.
Weight loss [...]

Biggest Loser Blog Edition final results! How’d I do?

I’m so glad I joined the Biggest Loser Blog Edition this fall — I almost didn’t do it at all because I was afraid of getting too obsessed focused on the number on the scale. I had a few moments where I did, but overall, I actually got over the scale to a great degree [...]

Down 3.9 pounds: Biggest Loser Blog Edition final week

Well, the 3.9 is gone again. Phew! Back in business and feeling much better. This is the final weigh-in for the Biggest Loser Blog Edition, but I think my essentially maintaining through the holidays has eliminated me from the top competition. (If I yo-yo up and down a few pounds again over the next few [...]

Great site, I think I’m at my 5k goal, current book, miscellaneous news

Some miscellaneous notes…
Jason, who stopped by the other day to offer some encouragement (thanks!), has a great blog about his 130 pound loss. He also started running along the way, is a believer in slow running, and has even done some  ultramarathons (my current not-so-secret obsession). Jason and I started within a pound of each [...]

Scout’s honor, down 6.2 pounds: Biggest Loser Blog Edition

Down 6.2 pounds! Guess it must have been the two chocolate (nay, double chocolate) cupcakes I had yesterday

-21.8 since starting Biggest Loser Blog Edition
-28.6 since starting blog
-45.6 from highest weight

Of course, my first reaction was — the scale is broken! But I’d been losing steadily throughout the week, so I don’t think the [...]

Down 1.4 pounds: Biggest Loser Blog Edition

Down 1.4 pounds! I’ll take it. Rough week, unfortunate time of month, and other things I could have used as an excuse, but… I don’t make excuses any longer. No more excuses! Angie gave me a pep talk last week and said that this was my time to do this and you know what? Yes, [...]

Don’t deserve an ounce of this, down 0.9: Biggest Loser Blog Edition

Well, down 0.9 pounds. I procrastinated weighing for a day because I was sure I’d be up at least, like, 5 pounds or something.

-14.2 since starting Biggest Loser Blog Edition
-21 since starting blog
-38 from highest weight

I didn’t do much of anything right and I’m surprised. I was sick and stressed and overworked and ate like [...]

Up 1.9 (but I’m OK with that): Biggest Loser Blog Edition

Well, up 1.9 pounds. However, that’s after 4 planes in 40 hours (cankles!) and two weeks of traveling (yummy food!), so I’m actually OK with that. That gives me a net loss for the trip.

-13.3 since starting Biggest Loser Blog Edition
-20.1 since starting blog
-37.1 from highest weight

-15.2 since starting Biggest Loser Blog Edition
-22 since starting blog
-39 from highest weight

Easy to do in China — healthy meals and lots of walking. Lots of (bottled) water and tea. No snacks to speak of, very few sodas. A culture of moderation, health, [...]

Up 1.1 pounds: Biggest Loser Blog Edition

Well, I’m up 1.1 pounds. I’m sure I could rationalize it, but it wasn’t all excusable! Back on track today, immediately.
What happened? Quick analysis of the week:
* Didn’t do visual diary — am appreciating just how effective this is for me. Major reality check. I think I was just not as aware this week and [...]
