Interesting article — you can have your DNA tested to find out what sport is the best fit for you.
Why not just do what’s fun?
Though I have to admit, I’m very curious now. If I had a spare $300 or so, I’d do it just to see what they said!

Looking back, I certainly learned a bunch about what works and what doesn’t with regard to my getting fit.
In no particular order…
Works: Outrageous distance-based goal with deadline (Lazy Man’s Triathlon, first 5K race, first 5K continuous run, marathon, open water swim, triathlon… what else to come?)
Doesn’t work: Exercising for X minutes Y days a week. [...]

Well, Saturday I ran 5K for the first time! No walking, no stopping. With hills, even!
I started fairly fast (for me) and made myself slow down just a bit and I was glad I did because I had the energy to run up a endless long mountain goat grade fairly steep incline (for me) [...]

OK, this is getting ridiculous. I could blame TOM or my mother (visiting), but reality is I exercised too little and I ate too much (and not of the right stuff). Interestingly, I’ve also been getting stressed/weirded out by being in the top three of the BLBE and I suspect I’m sabotaging myself somehow around [...]

I’m finally getting over my respiratory thang! So, back to my jogging plan today.
But I’m nervous. Because my knees have finally just stopped killing me after my Great Wall climb almost a month ago.
I want to be able to run 5k by the end of the year. But now I’m worried my knees are going [...]

First of all, let me laugh at the blog name Foodio54. Clever. I have some really great old music running through my head now. Perhaps I date myself. (OK, in the 70s I was like, ten, but still!)
Now, down to business. Mark Salinas stumbled my second Influencer post (thanks, Mark!). When I checked out his [...]

I did the unthinkable today.
The impossible.
The unimaginable.
There I was, walking on the track at the YMCA. I was walking at a good clip — probably around 4-4.5 miles per hour. (Who knew Steal Your Face was a song with a quick enough tempo? And, I was groovy and mellow while doing it. Must have been [...]

WOW! The blahs have definitely passed.
By 9:30 this morning, I was like a whirlwind through the house. I:
Baked a loaf of homemade bread (smell wakes the kids up better than an alarm clock)
Prepared dinner (vegan lentil shepherds pie) and started cooking it in the slow cooker to be ready this afternoon (house smells warm and [...]

I shouldn’t have gone on the scale. I exercised my a$$ off this weekend (or so I was hoping) and I gained a few pounds. Food was good — little snacking, mostly good choices. I didn’t drink enough water, though. It was very demoralizing, which reminds me why I don’t go on the scale often. [...]

Well, I have finished half of the marathon leg (13 out of 26 miles) of the Lazy Waister’s Triathlon.
Today, I’m going to start swimming while I finish up the marathon leg over the next few days. Then, as soon as the marathon leg is done, I need to add the biking! That wasn’t quite the [...]
