What’s your biggest remaining challenge?

My weight loss over time, in a picture (well, graph): yo-yo to steady-as-she-goes

Well, I’m actually down a bit more today — and very close to the 50 pounds gone mark.
I keep track of my progress in a spreadsheet now because, along with my not-dieting, the number on the scale no longer (well, rarely) has meaning to me these days other than a progress metric — it’s not [...]

Still here, stable weight, much-needed computer break

Hi, everyone! I have taken a much-needed break from the computer for a bit, but will be back posting tomorrow — got some good ones coming up!
Weight-wise, I’ve stayed the same, which is actually my goal for the moment. We’ve had a lot of stress, so my goal is to be human, deal with things [...]

Down 2 pounds: In between Biggest Loser Blog Editions

Well, I’m down another two pounds. Little appetite plus a little running seems to have done the trick this week. To be honest, at the start of the week, I was worried I’d have another gain on my little yo-yo thing I’ve been doing the past few weeks. But now, my motivation is renewed.
Weight loss [...]

Biggest Loser Blog Edition final results! How’d I do?

I’m so glad I joined the Biggest Loser Blog Edition this fall — I almost didn’t do it at all because I was afraid of getting too obsessed focused on the number on the scale. I had a few moments where I did, but overall, I actually got over the scale to a great degree [...]

Down 3.9 pounds: Biggest Loser Blog Edition final week

Well, the 3.9 is gone again. Phew! Back in business and feeling much better. This is the final weigh-in for the Biggest Loser Blog Edition, but I think my essentially maintaining through the holidays has eliminated me from the top competition. (If I yo-yo up and down a few pounds again over the next few [...]

up 3.9: Biggest Loser Blog Edition

No excuses. (I’m brimming with them, but really, there just aren’t any.)

Weight loss so far:

-24.6 since starting blog
-41.6 from highest weight

I’m back on track now, though. This actually was worse a few days ago.

More on Oprah’s weight gain tell-all » The-F-Word.org

I’m not going to talk about Oprah.
But I do want to talk about this statement in a blog about Oprah:
“For people with disordered eating or an eating disorder, weight is but a symptom of a larger, often emotional problem.”
(Disclaimer: I’m not suggesting Oprah or fat people have emotional problems.)
The realization that I needed to focus [...]

Just a quick note — last week’s gain gone, plus a few ounces so far this week

Got on the scale this morning and realized:

Last week’s gain (plus a bit) is gone, which is good, so on track for the week.
The scale doesn’t have the power over me it once did — at this point, I get on about every other day to get some data to see how things are going. [...]

Don’t deserve an ounce of this, down 0.9: Biggest Loser Blog Edition

Well, down 0.9 pounds. I procrastinated weighing for a day because I was sure I’d be up at least, like, 5 pounds or something.

-14.2 since starting Biggest Loser Blog Edition
-21 since starting blog
-38 from highest weight

I didn’t do much of anything right and I’m surprised. I was sick and stressed and overworked and ate like [...]

Easy to do in China — healthy meals and lots of walking. Lots of (bottled) water and tea. No snacks to speak of, very few sodas. A culture of moderation, health, [...]
