What’s your biggest remaining challenge?

What is this called? An @ss eclipse?

My dear husband never says anything he doesn’t truly mean, so when he says he can see the changes in my body as I lose weight I know he’s not just saying it to make me feel good. The way he expresses it is sometimes a little unexpected, though. Saturday night, he told me he […]

50/50 by Karnazes and what really motivates me (hint: not just losing weight)

I know I still owe you the final Influencer post, but I had to interject this one! However, having a goal like riding my bike to […]

Into the 200s now — isn’t it funny what significance we assign to numbers on the scale?

Lost a couple more pounds — Down 26.5# from my highest weight, down about 10# from starting this blog. I was relieved to get past 300. It’s funny how we attribute such meaning to certain numbers. The “round” numbers (no pun intended) are obvious candidates, but here’s my list of meaningful numbers: 325 — highest […]

Don’t laugh, but I’m going to do a triathlon

I have blogged about how I love watching marathons (and triathlons). The women and men who compete are so focused and determined. Positively inspiring. Then, recently, I read a post about a woman of size who completed a triathlon. And my dream began! (Oh, that I would have kept that post in my favorites. Sigh. […]

The two hottest tags in my blog tag cloud are…

Hmm. If you look at the tag cloud on the right side of my blog, you’ll see that the two most used tags are commitment and weight loss. Hmm. In the past, I’ve focused my energies on any number of the other tags. Guess there’s a message for me here today. Later, more on my […]

Lost 6 pounds in 5 days, which brings me to my next dilemma…

I am feeling really good today — my clothes are looser and I have more energy. And, to be honest, I haven’t had to do much. I’ve employed two primary strategies to exercise more and eat less: Schedule exercise and be committed to it (and have a Plan B in case life happens and I […]
